Mikkela and Brett got married a few years back, in their gorgeous backyard and surrounded by their close friends and family. Even though only a few years had passed, they felt that they wanted to share vows with each other once more. When we started to chat about locations and what they had envisioned for these special moments – they wanted to explore somewhere NEW. I knew the perfect place for this Sunset Vow Renewal would be in Spruce Woods Manitoba.

With its incredible sand dunes and how peaceful and quiet it is in the spring, The Spirit Sands Trail in Spruce Woods Provincial Park in Manitoba was the perfect backdrop for their vow renewal. It is also an incredible location for engagement photos, family photos, or for your wedding! You need to be prepared for the hike though!

The Sunset and The Vow Renewal

Manitoba has some incredible sunsets, we knew it would be the best time of day for this vow renewal. We began our hike through the sandy Spruce Woods and made our way up to the dunes just as the sun began to set. We started with some quiet moments where the forest meets with the dunes. Bare foot. Carefree. And soaking in how incredible the sand dunes are.

From there, we hiked deeper into the dunes until we found the perfect spot for them to exchange their vows once more. With coyotes howling in the distance, and the glow of the sunset, they spoke from their heart. Vulnerable, wholesome, pure, and without holding anything back.

The love these two share is powerful and it was a gift to be in the presence of it. I’m pinching myself still that I got to witness such a beautiful display of love, intimacy, commitment, and emotion.
