The beautiful and intimate lakeside wedding of Mark and Jill at their family cabin in Kenora, Ontario.
Lakeside weddings are always so special to me, and Mark and Jill’s wedding in Kenora was extra special. When we started chatting about how, when, and where they wanted to get married, covid restrictions was definitely the driving factor. They decided to keep it small, just intimate family. They knew the exact place they wanted to spend their special day: Mark’s family cabin on Black Sturgeon Lake just outside of Kenora, Ontario.
On the day of their wedding, there was TOURENTIAL RAINFALL warnings for the entire area… and yes… it poured! But just as the ceremony was about to begin, the skies cleared and the sun poked through. We had just enough time for the lakeside wedding ceremony and following family portraits.
There were so many personal touches to this day. Mark’s father built the most beautiful platform overlooking the lake for the ceremony location. Jill hand picked her own wild flowers for her bouquet, just by walking down the road leading to the cabin and delicately picking the flowers that spoke to her. The rings were passed around to each family member – for them to add well wishes and positive energy into the wedding bands.
The entire day felt so pure and real. Thank you for inviting me into these moments, and to capture this for you. My heart is so full.
I am always down for a lakeside wedding or elopement. Please reach out to see if your date is available! I am frequently in the Kenora, Ontario area throughout the summer. My summer travel schedule always includes Clear Lake, Hecla, Falcon Lake, West Hawk Lake, and Gimli!
